In addition to offering three levels of Japanese language courses, we have expanded our English language courses on Japanese literature, culture, and linguistics. New course offerings include Love and Loss: Reading the Tale of Genji,  The World of Manga, Constructing the Samurai, and Origins of Anime. Students majoring/minoring in Japanese Studies develop the ability to understand, speak, read, and write the language and acquire an understanding of the culture, including literature, film, and theatre.
