In the Fall 2025 semester, the students enrolled in the course RUSN/MUGN 305: Folk Music of Eastern Europe, explored vocal and instrumental music and dance from Russia and the countries of Eastern Europe. Students studied folk music, folk instruments, and singing styles of many ethnic groups of the region. Each musical piece was placed in context, with an eye towards culture, symbolism, history, poetry/lyrics, and customs.
