Welcome to the Chinese program at Case Western Reserve University!
欢迎 The Chinese program offers a variety of courses, ranging from three-level Chinese language courses to courses about Chinese cinema, pop culture, and literature. Besides courses taught in Chinese, students who pursue a major in Chinese are encouraged to take Chinese-related courses in such interdisciplinary areas as Asian art, cinema, comparative literature of Chinese and the West, Chinese religion and history, and international business. Taking advantage of the varied resources of the University and University Circle institutions, the Chinese Program makes the study of Chinese culture an integral part of the student’s undergraduate education. Completing these Chinese courses fulfills the requirements for a minor or major in Chinese. A minor in Chinese only requires five Chinese courses starting at the student’s Chinese language level. A major in Chinese requires twelve Chinese courses, including two Chinese-related taught in English. Furthermore, the Chinese Program provides an excellent foundation for students who apply for graduate or professional programs, pursue careers in international business, finance, law, journalism, foreign service, and technological or medical exchange.
