On February 9, 2024, as Lunar New Year Eve approached, students from Professor Xin Zhang’s CHIN 380 and CHIN 102 embarked on an unforgettable journey into the heart of Chinese culture.  Guided by the esteemed guest speaker, Mr. Jungu Guo, a Digital Innovation Specialist from the Cleveland Public Library, participants experienced the timeless elegance of the Chaoshan Kung Fu Tea Ceremony. Mr. Guo’s expertise illuminated the intricate rituals and profound significance of this cherished tradition, offering insights into its historical roots and cultural significance. In addition to this enriching cultural immersion, students had the opportunity to explore China’s breathtaking landscapes through cutting-edge virtual reality experiences. From the majestic peaks of the Himalayas to the bustling streets of Shanghai, the immersive VR technology transported participants to iconic destinations across China, unveiling the country’s natural beauty and vibrant urban landscapes in stunning detail.
