Russian students enjoyed their outing to the Maltz Performing Arts Center on October 3, 2023 to attend a concert. The performance titled “Russian Duo and Friends” combined Russian music and literature.
The Duo includes Oleg Kruglyakov, balalaika virtuoso from Siberia and Terry Boyarsky, American pianist and contributor to the Russian Song course at the DMLL. They collaborate with performers from orchestra, chorus, and theater for a unique and elegant synthesis of music and literature for the stage.
The Friends of the Duo who participated in the concert were: Christopher Bohan, a Cleveland based actor and instructor at the department of theater at CWRU; Grammy nominated violist Eliesha Nelson, a member of the Cleveland Orchestra; and Peter Wright, a tenor, voice teacher, and the Artistic Director for Choral Arts Cleveland.
