Ms. Kishi joined Case Western Reserve University in 2002 and has taught various levels of Japanese language courses (from first-year to fourth-year Japanese courses). In 2015, she spent time in Japan taking graduate courses at the Osaka University Graduate School of Language and Culture and teaching intensive courses at an academic study-abroad program for US college students. She returned to Case in the Fall of 2016. She was certified as an Oral Proficiency Interview tester in 2014 and tries to design her courses to develop a learner’s functional competency while incorporating practice in real-life situations learners often encounter into the classroom. She often spends her summers in Tokyo teaching a college-level summer intensive Japanese course and enjoys teaching Japanese learners from various countries.
