About

Hyun Kyung Kim received her BA and MA in English Language and Literature from Yonsei University, and her PhD in Multilingual Language Education from The Ohio State
University.

She holds extensive instructional experience across linguistics, literature, and translation, having taught in the Department of English at Yeonsung University, the Department of English Language and Literature at Yonsei University, the Yonsei Foreign Language Institute, and the Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures at The Ohio State University.

Her research interests include modern Korean literature, literary theory, language socialization, discourse analysis, and microethnography, with an ongoing interest in investigating how culturally specific language use mediates and shapes emergent social and cultural patterns—both in literary texts and social interactions.
