Jane M. Battisson received her PhD in French, with certificates in Comparative Literature and Psychoanalytic Studies from Emory University. Her work as both a generalist and a specialist of Environmental Humanities and contemporary French literature is interdisciplinary in its approach. Her interests include 19 th -21 st century French and Francophone Literature, Ecocriticism, Ontology, Comparative Literature and Philosophies, and Critical and Psychoanalytic Theories. Her work explores the ways in which humanity’s engagement with words and the natural world informs its conceptions of and relation to self, others, and the non-human.
