CARNEVALE@CWRU, enjoyed since the year 2000, made a fond return Friday, February 9, 2024, after pausing in recent years due to restrictions. Our program in Italian with the campus student organization dedicated to Italian culture and language, La Dolce Vita, hosted the event, with Guilford House acting as a Venetian ‘palazzo’. Students, faculty, staff, and visitors enjoyed Italian music, outstanding food from our neighboring Little Italy, local ice cream (gelato!) from Mitchell’s, a crafty mask-making ‘workshop’, and great entertainment! The award-winning Commedia dell’Arte troupe “The Confused Greenies: Players’ Patchwork Theatre Company” offered original commedia skits and plenty of carnivalesque fun & laughter. The event provided genuine Italian conviviality and the opportunity to practice Italian conversation. CHE BELLO!
